Process of Research
Benchmark
I started my research by analyzing dating apps and websites. Studying competitors, gathering mechanics and features. Analyzing the Russian market of dating apps. Communicating with experts also proved to be very beneficial in understanding the market.
Promotion
Choosing a promotion strategy is one massive experiment. Trying out targeted VK advertisements, creating videos and memes for TikTok and Instagram. And even, an article I wrote on VC made it to the top and brought in the most applications.
Interviews
👉 10 respondents, 5 males and 5 females
Conduct a series of 20-minute deep interviews with users who have submitted an application on the Youme.Land website. During the interviews, my main task was to identify the expectations of users who showed interest in the project.
Brainstorming
Based on interviews, marketing experiments, and market analysis, I organized a brainstorming session with the team. During the brainstorming session, each person put forward several ideas, and then we voted for the best ones and discussed why a particular idea is cool.
Design
The main screen
The main idea is to use short videos to make the dating process more fun. By using videos, users can showcase their facial expressions and gestures to enhance their charisma and display more authentic behavior.
Start of chat
Auto selection with prepared phrases can help you quickly start communication, even if you already start to write.
Chat
If you match with the person you sent a reaction, the dialogue open. In Dialogue, you can share photos and videos. Of course, it is moderated.

Result
This was my first serious pet project, which we successfully developed to the MVP stage. However, we were unable to secure investments, so the project was eventually shut down 😔
